Wendy Walker-Fox has served as Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board since Fall 2016. In this role, she manages the fiscal and administrative oversight body for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded programs. In 2022, regional Economic Development for the Piedmont Triad merged with the existing Workforce Development efforts. Walker-Fox leads these programs as the Workforce and Economic Development Director promoting innovative, responsive, and strategic initiatives to advance economic growth and mobility across the region through developing strong community relationships, convening partners, and coordinating resources to meet the talent and development needs of the Piedmont Triad.
Walker-Fox currently serves as President of the Executive Director’s Council for North Carolina’s 20 Workforce Development Boards, a member of the Community Investment Committee for the Winston Salem Foundation, Board Member of Arbor Acres (a full-service continuing care facility), and is a 2023 graduate of Insight: Winston-Salem. Along with several workforce development related certifications, Walker-Fox holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Master’s Degrees in both Human Resources Development and Exercise Science.
