Toni Blount

Regional Impact Manager

Toni Blount serves as a Regional Impact Manager for myFutureNC where she will work intricately with communities in the South Eastern regions of North Carolina.  She earned her BS and M.A.Ed. from East Carolina University and is currently completing a one year community college educational leadership certificate at UNC Wilmington. Toni has served three North Carolina school districts in the area of college and career readiness, Coordinator of College Access and Scholarships, and Early College/Career and College Promise Liaison to the three NC Community Colleges. Additionally, Toni has taught health education courses at two NC community college for 25 years.

Toni serves on the NC Counselor Advisory Panel, the NC ACT Council and the College Board Scholarship Council.  Toni also served as the SACAC Government Relations co-chair for North Carolina and has presented college access tools at the state, regional and national levels.   Toni’s professional goals include the promotion of college and career readiness tools that upon graduation, North Carolina students have a “best fit” post-secondary plan which includes achieving grants and scholarships, credentials, future college credit and the readiness to experience life as an independent student, employee, intern or military recruit. The intricate connection of academics, extracurricular activities, service and leadership to career and college readiness and career development, has been the purpose of Toni’s work for over 25 years.

Personally, Toni resides in New Bern, NC with her husband, Stuart Blount. She has three adult children, Jacob (25), Nicholas (23) and Anna (20). As a family, they enjoy boating and traveling. Toni enjoys reading, physical fitness, and her volunteer work. In 2020, she was named one of New Bern’s 52 Faces of the Community. One of her favorite quotes is “Do as much as you can for as long as you can for as many as you can.”
