Sherry Carpenter is responsible for the regional workforce development and mission services as well as leading the organizational development strategy for team members in the counties served by Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC, Inc. She has over twenty years of experience with Goodwill and has a background in human services and education. The scope of services provided in her current position includes education and career programs for approximately 25,000 individuals as well as being a member of the executive team that supports over 1,100 employees. Sherry serves on the Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board, the North Carolina Employment and Training Association Board, the High Country Workforce Development Board, the NCWorks Commission, and the Forsyth Technical Community College Foundation Board.
Sherry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology from Appalachian State University. She is a graduate of Goodwill’s Executive Leadership Program and a graduate of the 2020 class of Leadership Winston-Salem. She has been honored by the Business Journal as an award winner for Women in Business and was featured in Forsyth Woman magazine. Also, Sherry is a previous recipient of the YWCA’s “Women of Vision” award and she received the Watson Award for Mission Advancement through Goodwill Industries International.
