Mark D’Amico is a Professor of Higher Education and former Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership at UNC Charlotte. He has published more than 40 scholarly articles and book chapters largely on community college student success and the community college role in workforce development. Mark has received funding for his work from the U.S. Department of Education, and he currently serves as Past-President of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges and on the editorial boards of leading community college journals. Prior to his faculty role, Mark served for nearly 15 years in administrative positions with the South Carolina Technical College System, Midlands Technical College, Francis Marion University, and UNC Charlotte. Mark also held adjunct faculty positions in English, political science, and education at multiple universities and a community college in the Carolinas. He holds an M.A. from UNC Charlotte and a Ph.D. from UNC Greensboro.
