Gina Zhang

Research and Data Analysis Manager

Gina Zhang serves as Research and Data Analysis Manager. In this role, she focuses on identifying attainment trends, gaps, and solutions through data and research. She also helps to collect, manage, and analyze data to measure and report progress on the 2 million by 2030 goal.

Most recently, Gina was a data specialist at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), where she created data profiles and interactive visualizations to assist regional managers and school leadership coaches at the Division of District & Regional Support.

Gina comes to myFutureNC with experience working at nonprofits. She served as a survey consultant for the Belk Foundation, supporting the design and implementation of surveys relating to DE&I practices. She also worked at the think tank Brookings Institution as a research assistant and published co-authored articles. In addition, Gina was a public sector fellow at Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), an advocacy and policy organization for the high-tech sector.

Gina Zhang earned a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Gina loves sports, books, and coffee. You can always find her at swimming, running, or triathlon races on weekends. Gina is native in Mandarin Chinese. She was born and raised in Beijing, China.
