Geoff Coltrane

Governor Roy Cooper’s Designee

Geoff Coltrane joined Governor Cooper’s administration as the Senior Education Advisor in June 2017. Previously, Geoff served as the Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Initiatives at the NC School of Science and Mathematics, the Director of Program and Policy at the Hunt Institute, and the Research and Communications Director at the NC New Schools Project. Geoff started his career as an elementary teacher in Durham, NC. A North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Geoff earned his undergraduate degree in education from UNC-Chapel Hill and his master’s in public policy degree from Duke University.

A native of Trinity, NC, Geoff and his wife, Sneha, live in Durham with their daughter Asha and son Devak.
