Dale McInnis is a lifelong resident of North Carolina, raised on his family’s farm near Norman in Richmond County. After graduating from Richmond Senior High School in 1984, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1988. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Campbell University in 1991 and his doctorate in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University in 2002.
Dale began his community college career in 1992 as a lead instructor for business administration with Montgomery Community College. He soon entered college administration, accepting the position of Vice President of Administrative Services there in 1993. In 2001, he became Vice President of Administrative Services at South Piedmont Community College. Joining Richmond Community College in 2002, he was promoted to Executive Vice President for Administration in 2006, and Executive Vice President in 2007, and he became RCC’s seventh president on March 1, 2010.
He serves on many local and regional boards. He resides in Rockingham with his wife, Thomasa. His son Ryan, and daughter-in-law, Caitlin, reside in Charlotte.
