North Carolina First in FAFSA is a myFutureNC Collaborative that focuses on increasing the number of high school seniors who complete the FAFSA. Increasing the FAFSA completion rate is a fundamental step in our state’s efforts to meet our postsecondary attainment goal. Students who complete the FAFSA are more likely to enroll in higher education, persist in their college coursework, and obtain a degree.

myFutureNC will sponsor the inaugural 2020-2021 NC First in FAFSA Challenge. Our goal in this first year of the FAFSA Challenge is to increase FAFSA completion in every high school in North Carolina by partnering  with high schools to ensure students receive as much funding as possible!

In partnership with Carolina Demography we have developed an NC First in FAFSA Tracker, supporting school districts and schools in accessing FAFSA completion data and data visualizations that can be used by counselors and other college access professionals to target their efforts.

The 2022 Tracker and Leaderboard will be available soon.
